GCC Commerce Undersecretaries Hold 61st Preparatory Meeting in Kuwait

Kuwait city: The undersecretaries of the ministries of commerce in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held their 61st preparatory meeting in Kuwait City today. Deputy Governor of the General Authority of Foreign Trade for International Organizations and Agreements Fareed bin Saeed Al-Asaly participated in the meeting.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting aimed to enhance cooperation among GCC member states and discussed several agenda items in preparation for the 69th meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Trade Cooperation. Key topics included updates on the GCC Investment Undersecretaries Committee, progress on drafting unified GCC commercial laws, developments related to the Patent Office of the GCC Secretariat General, and a review of member states’ proposals submitted to the Trade Cooperation Committee for guidance.

Participants also discussed updates on the outputs and achievements of the subcommittees under the Trade Cooperation Committee, including the committees for domestic trade, foreign trade, small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurship, consumer protection, and related working groups.

The meeting served as a preparatory step for the 69th session of the GCC Ministers of Commerce and Industry, scheduled to take place on October 29 in Kuwait City.
