GCC Chief Condemns Statements by Israeli Prime Minister on Displacement of Palestinians

Riyadh: Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi condemned in the strongest terms the irresponsible and dangerous statements made by the prime minister of the Israeli occupation forces concerning the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi considered these statements to be a public call to perpetrate a full-fledged crime of ethnic cleansing and a flagrant violation of all international charters, conventions, and laws.

He affirmed that such dangerous statements and practices are rejected regionally and internationally. They demonstrate, once again, the occupation forces’ systematic and aggressive approach to thwarting any efforts to achieve a just peace and undermining the chances of establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The secretary-general called upon the international community to urgently assume its legal and humanitarian responsibilities. He urged it to take firm and immediate measures to stop these dangerous practices and statements, as well as to prevent an escalation of the situation that threatens regional and global stability.

Furthermore, he called on it to work to support the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state, based on the Arab Peace Initiative and resolutions of international legitimacy.
