Riyadh: GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi strongly condemned the dangerous and inflammatory calls by a minister in the Israeli occupation government to deepen settlement and annex the occupied West Bank. The secretary-general stated that such calls confirm the Israeli occupation’s continuous and systematic approach of destabilizing security and stability in the region and its blatant defiance of international conventions.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi called on the international community to take immediate and deterrent measures to halt such practices. He also affirmed the GCC’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people in facing these aggressive statements and practices, and for their legitimate rights, most importantly the establishment of their independent state on the June 4, 1967, borders, with east Jerusalem as its capital.
