GCC Chief Albudaiwi Discusses Gaza, Stability with European Parliament Group

Riyadh: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi affirmed the need to address and enhance stability and security in the region, foremost of which are the dangerous and tragic situations in the Gaza Strip.

According to Saudi Press Agency, his remarks came today during a meeting with a European Parliament delegation from the Committee on Foreign Affairs, headed by David McAllister, at the GCC General Secretariat in Riyadh. During the meeting, the sides reviewed joint files and the progress of cooperation between the GCC and the European Union (EU), ways to enhance the strategic partnership between the two sides in various fields, and regional and international issues of common interest.

During the discussion of the situation in Gaza, Albudaiwi emphasized the necessity of cooperation and coordination to work towards an immediate ceasefire, as well as to activate all relevant international and UN resolutions that will contribute to preserving the lives of innocent people and ensuring the arrival of humanitarian aid.
