GCC and Vietnam Discuss Progress on Free Trade Agreement

Doha: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi met in Doha today with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Minh Hang on the sidelines of the 2nd World Summit for Social Development. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest developments in the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

According to Saudi Press Agency, they also discussed strengthening GCC-Vietnamese cooperation in areas and priorities of common interest within the framework of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the GCC and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 2023.

Both sides emphasized their aspirations to enhance GCC-Vietnamese relations and build a strategic partnership, as well as to follow up on the latest developments in regional and international arenas.
