Riyadh: The overall operating revenue index increased by 3.2% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025. On a quarterly basis, the index declined by 0.6% compared with the first quarter of 2026.

According to Saudi Press Agency, issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), the employee compensation index increased by 9.0% compared with the same quarter in 2025. The increase was driven by a 10.8% rise in employee compensation in the retail trade sector.

The results also showed that the e-sales index increased by 9.8% compared with Q2 2025. Retail trade activity rose by 13.4%, wholesale trade by 6.5%, and motor vehicle sales and repair by 2.4%.

On a quarterly basis, the e-sales index increased by 1.1% in retail trade, 0.3% in wholesale trade, and 0.1% in motor vehicle sales and repair.

The motor vehicle sales index increased by 0.6% compared with the same quarter in 2025. It also rose by 0.9% compared with Q1 2026.
