GASTAT President Receives Iraqi Delegation to Enhance Mutual Cooperation

Riyadh: The President of the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) welcomed a delegation from Iraq led by President of the Statistics and Geospatial Information Authority in Iraq Dr. Diaa Awad Kazem to foster cooperation, according to a press release from GASTAT. The meeting, held at GASTAT headquarters in Riyadh, aimed to introduce the Iraqi delegation to Saudi Arabia's statistical expertise, focusing particularly on the Saudi Census 2022. Discussions centered on enhancing collaboration in statistical fields and other shared interests. Key agenda items included reviewing GASTAT's experience in conducting the General Population and Housing Census, as well as discussions on data collection, analysis, storage methods, and the dissemination of statistical data. Dr. Aldossari emphasized the strong bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Iraq, underscoring the importance of exchanging statistical expertise to further strengthen these ties. He highlighted Saudi Arabia's efforts in statistical transform ation and the critical role of accurate statistical databases for informed decision-making aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. Dr. Kazem expressed gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed the Iraqi delegation's eagerness to learn from Saudi Arabia's experience in population census operations.
