Riyadh: The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) released on Monday its complaint performance ranking index for national air carriers and airports, based on the number of complaints filed by passengers with GACA in July 2026. GACA reported that passengers filed a total of 1,718 complaints against air carriers.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudia recorded the lowest complaint rate, at 24 complaints per 100,000 passengers, with 97% of complaints resolved within the specified timeframe. flynas ranked second, with 41 complaints per 100,000 passengers and a 100% resolution rate. Riyadh Air ranked third, with 51 complaints per 100,000 passengers and a 100% resolution rate, followed by flyadeal in fourth place, with 54 complaints per 100,000 passengers and a 98% resolution rate. The most common complaint categories in July were flights, followed by tickets and baggage services.
Among international airports handling more than 6 million passengers annually, King Khalid International Airport recorded the lowest complaint rate, at 1% per 100,000 passengers. This was equivalent to 19 complaints, with a 100% resolution rate. King Abdullah International Airport recorded the lowest complaint rate among international airports handling fewer than 6 million passengers annually, at 2% per 100,000 passengers. This was equivalent to two complaints, with a 100% resolution rate. Among domestic airports, Bisha Airport recorded the lowest complaint rate, at 2% per 100,000 passengers, equivalent to one complaint, with a 100% resolution rate.
GACA said the monthly report is issued to promote transparency and encourage fair competition to develop and improve services. GACA has also made several communication channels available around the clock to engage with passengers. These include the unified call center (1929), WhatsApp service at (0115253333), social media accounts, and its website. The channels receive all types of complaints related to air carriers, airports, and services provided by GACA.
