Riyadh: The foreign ministers of several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Trkiye, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, have voiced strong condemnation against Israel's rejection of the Road Map for implementing US President Trump's Comprehensive Plan to resolve the Gaza conflict. This plan, endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, aims to achieve lasting peace and support Palestinian statehood. The rejection from Israel is seen as a direct challenge to this plan, threatening its execution and undermining collective peace efforts. The ministers emphasized that Israel now holds responsibility for obstructing peace initiatives in Gaza and the broader Occupied Palestinian Territory. According to Saudi Press Agency, the Road Map has been accepted by Palestinian factions and represents a significant milestone, formulated with the support of mediators including Egypt, Qatar, Trkiye, the USA, the High Representative of Gaza, and the Board of Peace. It outlines a strategy for decommissioning weapons alongside the withdrawal of Israeli forces. The plan also includes the deployment of the International Stabilization Force, transferring administrative authority to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, and reconstructing Gaza as detailed in the Comprehensive Plan. The foreign ministers assert that rejecting the Road Map equates to a refusal to implement the Comprehensive Plan, posing a risk to the efforts put forth by President Trump to resolve the Gaza conflict and establish lasting peace. They stress the necessity of continued US involvement to ensure Israel's adherence to the commitments of the Comprehensive Plan and its Road Map, and to prevent further obstructions. Moreover, they state that Israel bears full responsibility for any negative outcomes resulting from its ongoing rejection or non-compliance, which could exacerbate conditions on the ground and hinder efforts to end the war in Gaza. The ministers reiterated the critical need for the full and immed iate execution of the Comprehensive Plan to address the serious humanitarian situation, ensure security and stability in Gaza, and facilitate reconstruction and recovery. They advocate for a just and lasting peace based on the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood, in line with international law. They firmly oppose any attempts to deny Palestinian statehood, emphasizing that a comprehensive peace can only be realized through a two-state solution with an independent Palestinian State based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The ministers also highlighted the ongoing significance of the Board of Peace's role and called on all parties to support its efforts in implementing the Road Map and progressing President Trump's Comprehensive Plan. They urged the Board of Peace, with active US support, to take immediate actions to uphold the integrity of the Comprehensive Plan and prevent any hindrances to its implementation.
