Baghdad / NINA / - Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein affirmed: "The visit of the Saudi foreign minister is important and came at a time when challenges abounded."

"We are working with Saudi Arabia to ease tensions in the region and solve problems through dialogue," he said in a joint press conference with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan.

He added, "There is cooperation with the Saudi side regarding trade exchange, and we look forward to providing us with electric energy through the Saudi or Gulf grid."

He continued: "We have continuous cooperation in the field of security and drug control, and there is coordination in the oil policy."

For his part, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan stressed the depth of relations with Iraq and the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation.

He said in the joint press conference with Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, today: "We support the efforts of the Iraqi government to promote prosperity and stability."

He added: "Iraq plays a key role in promoting stability in the region."
