Amman: Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated in the Ministerial Meeting in Support of Jerusalem and its Holy Sites, hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. During the meeting, Prince Faisal delivered a speech highlighting Saudi Arabia's appreciation for Jordan's role in safeguarding Jerusalem's holy sites.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Prince Faisal commended Jordan's historic efforts in preserving the Islamic and Christian holy sites and Jerusalem's historical identity. He reiterated Saudi Arabia's stance that East Jerusalem should be the capital of the State of Palestine and declared any unilateral measures to alter Jerusalem's legal status as null and void. He condemned actions intending to change the city's Islamic and Christian identity and stressed that religious freedom should not be used to justify political and occupation agendas.

Prince Faisal emphasized that the protection of Jerusalem is crucial for a just peace and warned against using religious or ideological claims to justify violence. He criticized Israeli military actions in Gaza as undermining peace efforts and called for the international community to take steps to halt violations and protect holy sites.

He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to working with regional and international partners through initiatives like the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution. The foreign minister concluded by stressing that Jerusalem must remain a symbol of peace and coexistence for followers of the Abrahamic faiths, and preserving its status is key to lasting peace in the region.

The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan and Minister Plenipotentiary at the Foreign Ministry Dr. Manal Radwan.
