Foreign Minister Inaugurates the First Meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution

Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, inaugurated the first meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution on Wednesday in Riyadh. This coalition, announced by the Kingdom last month in collaboration with its international partners, aims to advance practical efforts toward peace in the region.

In his opening remarks, Prince Faisal welcomed Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), along with the attending delegations.

Prince Faisal emphasized that the escalating violence and Israeli violations in Palestine and Lebanon, alongside the regional spread of conflict, require a firm response from the international community to end these violations, which undermine the prospects for a two-state solution and contribute to instability.

Prince Faisal stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages and detainees, and the end of impunity through accountabilit
y mechanisms. His Highness also reiterated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s support for UNRWA’s vital role in providing humanitarian aid amid the challenges facing Palestinian territories.

Prince Faisal called for intensified international efforts to preserve the two-state solution and restore security and stability in the region. Prince Faisal reaffirmed the Kingdom’s and regional partners’ commitment to achieving peace through practical steps and defined timelines, aimed at ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister for Political Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati and the Counsellor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Manal Radwan.
