Riyadh: The National Skills Competition (Saudi Skills) announced the winners of the Cybersecurity Track, along with the finalists who will represent the Kingdom at the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 Competition. The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) Director-General of Activities Eng. Abdullah Al-Duhailan, who also heads the national skills program, explained that the competition aims to prepare cybersecurity professionals capable of protecting computer systems and networks, ensuring their resilience and preventing unauthorized access or data breaches by hackers.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the competition featured 130 Saudi professionals participating in the preliminary phase, which included training and workshops. The participants represented nine organizations across Saudi universities, technical and digital colleges, private institutes, and educational academies. Twenty-six cybersecurity professionals advanced to the competition stage, where they demonstrated their practical skills in defending against cyberattacks. Ultimately, five candidates were shortlisted to qualify for the final round of the global competition, scheduled to take place in China in September 2026.

The closing ceremony showcased a visual presentation highlighting the competition’s activities and events over five days, including a tour of Al-Ahsa’s historical landmarks and key energy and investment sites.
