Solo: The first flight carrying beneficiaries of the Makkah Route Initiative departed today from Solo, Republic of Indonesia, for Saudi Arabia via the initiative lounge at Adisumarmo International Airport, bound for Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah Region.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative aims to provide services to pilgrims from beneficiary countries by receiving them and completing their procedures in their home countries with ease. The process begins with biometric data collection and electronic issuance of Hajj visas, followed by completion of passport procedures at the airport of departure after verification of health requirements and the tagging and sorting of luggage in line with transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom.
Pilgrims then proceed directly to buses that transport them along designated routes to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah regions, while partner entities deliver their luggage to their accommodations.
