Riyadh: The Film Commission is participating in the Malm¶ Arab Film Festival (MAFF) through the "Arab Nights" program, reinforcing Saudi cinema's standing on the international festival circuit.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program, running from April 7 to 17, features a selection of Saudi films, including Hijra, which represented the Kingdom in the 2026 Oscar race for Best International Feature Film. Other films showcased include My Driver and I, AlGaid, and A Matter of Life or Death. The screenings are part of a tour across Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway, accompanied by panel discussions with Saudi directors, producers, and writers aimed at expanding distribution opportunities and building production partnerships.

Film Commission CEO Abdullah Al-Qahtani described the participation as a strategic platform for advancing Saudi cinema's presence in Europe and introducing national talent to international audiences. He emphasized that the industry's current standing is built upon the contributions of such pioneers.

One of Europe's foremost festivals dedicated to Arab cinema, Malm¶ plays a key role in connecting Arab productions with European markets. This participation forms part of the Film Commission's broader strategy to empower national talent and position the Kingdom as a growing hub for the global film industry.
