Riyadh: One of the Kingdom’s most prominent agricultural regions, is gaining recognition for its fig production due to its unique geographic location and climate well-suited for summer crops. Najran figs are renowned for their high quality, sweet taste, and nutritional value, making them highly sought after by consumers.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in Najran Region Eng. Muryah Al-Shahrani, figs present high economic returns and can be used in profitable processing industries. He noted that annual fig production in the region has exceeded 650 tons, with the cultivated area expanding each year.
Agricultural experts have confirmed that the expansion of fig cultivation in Najran presents promising investment prospects, especially with the support provided by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. The ministry offers agricultural guidance, improved seedlings, and promotes good agricultural practices to help farmers.
