Baku:Zurich The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced plans to conduct inspection visits to potential host cities for the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco during November and December. This initiative represents a crucial part of the process in selecting the stadiums that will host the tournament's matches.
According to Saudi Press Agency, a FIFA delegation will evaluate candidate stadiums in the aforementioned countries to assess their readiness and ensure they meet the organizational and technical standards required to host the event.
The final list of host stadiums has yet to be determined, with Spain and Morocco competing to secure the venue for the tournament's final match. FIFA mentioned that additional stadiums might be included in the inspection schedule during the evaluation phase. The organization also clarified that match allocations and match categories for each host city will only be decided once the final list of stadiums and host cities is approved, and the tournament schedule is completed.
In a historic move, the three opening matches of the 2030 FIFA World Cup are set to take place in Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. This decision aims to commemorate the centenary of the first World Cup tournament, which was hosted by Uruguay in 1930.
