Riyadh: The Philippine Culture pavilions participating in the ‘Global Harmony 2’ initiative witnessed a strong turnout of visitors eager to explore various aspects of Filipino life, from traditional clothing and folk dances to handicrafts and decorative arts. The initiative is organized by the Ministry of Media in cooperation with the General Entertainment Authority and the Quality of Life Program.
According to Saudi Press Agency, held at Al-Suwaidi Park, one of the Riyadh Season venues, the event features eight pavilions showcasing traditional clothing techniques, seashell crafts, jewelry making, decorative items, and a wide range of handcrafted art pieces. These displays offer visitors a unique opportunity to discover authentic Filipino crafts and engage directly with skilled artisans.
The Philippines is renowned for its rich tradition of handicrafts, which reflect the diversity of local communities and their deep-rooted cultural heritage. Combining artistic expression with refined manual skills, these cr
afts rely on natural materials such as bamboo, abaca, wood, and seashells, with techniques passed down through generations.
As part of the cultural program, the initiative featured a series of musical and folk performances featuring Filipino artists and influencers. The performances drew a large and diverse audience of Filipino art enthusiasts from various nationalities.
The Philippine Culture Days offer daily activities that include musical and entertainment performances, children’s games, handicraft displays, and a variety of culinary experiences.
It is noteworthy that the ‘Global Harmony 2’ initiative has so far enabled visitors to explore 11 global cultures and is preparing to celebrate three additional cultures, continuing its journey of cultural diversity that began in early November.
