Riyadh:European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has strongly condemned the Houthi attack targeting King Khalid International Airport, labeling it a "dangerous escalation" and expressing the European Union's solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its people.
According to Saudi Press Agency, von der Leyen highlighted the destabilizing impact of attacks by Iran-backed groups, which are contributing to a cycle of violence in the region and threatening global transportation and energy hubs, with effects reaching beyond the Middle East.
She called for an immediate halt to these deadly attacks on civilians, reiterating her support for the Kingdom and its citizens in the face of this escalation.
