Riyadh: The Ministry of Media inaugurated the Ethiopian culture days on Thursday as part of the Global Harmony 2 initiative, featuring engaging folk performances that captivated visitors. Global Harmony 2, organized by the ministry in cooperation with the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), is taking place at Al-Suwaidi Park, one of the Riyadh Season venues, attracting visitors from many nationalities.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the festivities began at 4 p.m. with performances by Ethiopian bands that presented a variety of traditional dances representing different regions and cultures of Ethiopia. Visitors actively engaged with the displays, which will continue over three days.
Activities include musical performances, folk shows, cultural pavilions, and entertainment segments, featuring a selection of artists, influencers, and around 50 exhibitors and performing artists. Ethiopian residents particularly enjoyed participating in the traditional dances accompanied by indigenous instruments and drums.
The first day also showcased Ethiopian handicrafts, visual arts, traditional clothing, and local cuisine, along with demonstrations of everyday hospitality rituals such as coffee preparation (Jebena) and other cultural practices.
The Ethiopian culture days will continue tomorrow with a full program of new musical and folk performances, diverse heritage displays, and interactive pavilions that allow visitors to explore Ethiopia’s cultural heritage and historical evolution.
