Environmental Initiative Engages Fans during Italian Super Cup Final in Riyadh

Riyadh: The Friends of The Football Players Charity, with the support of the Environment Fund, participated for the second time in activating the ‘environmental league’ initiative on the sidelines of the Italian Super Cup final, held yesterday in Riyadh under the supervision and organization of the Ministry of Sport, which hosted this major international sporting event.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative’s booth witnessed strong attendance and notable interaction from fans of various nationalities, reflecting the global character of the Italian Super Cup. This engagement highlighted the initiative’s community impact and its effectiveness in delivering environmental messages to a diverse audience from within the Kingdom and beyond.

Several former Saudi national team stars took part in the booth’s activities, distributing gifts and seedlings to fans as part of efforts to promote agricultural culture and reinforce sustainability concepts. The booth also featured simplified explanations of waste sorting and recycling mechanisms, hands-on seedling planting activities, and the distribution of educational and interactive materials tailored for children and families. These activities contributed to fostering environmental awareness through practical and participatory experiences within sports venues.

Several fans and volunteers participated in cleaning the stadium stands after the match, an initiative that embodied the spirit of social responsibility and affirmed that environmental preservation is an essential component of a world-class sporting experience.
