Environment Vice Minister Launches Smart Voice Assistant for ‘Nama’ Platform

Riyadh: The Vice Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Mansour Almushaiti launched a Smart Voice Assistant for the ministry's Nama e-services platform, aimed at making digital government services faster, easier, and more accessible. The launch took place at the LEAP 2026 Tech Conference. According to Saudi Press Agency, during the event, Eng. Almushaiti also received an award from the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) recognizing the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture for the quality of its services delivered through the Tawakkalna application. The ministry provides 91 integrated services through the platform. The Smart Voice Assistant utilizes AI to process languages, dialects, and voice commands, enabling users to interact with the Nama platform through natural speech. The system is also designed to analyze users' behavior and interests to enhance the delivery of digital services. Deputy Minister for Information Technology and Digital Transformation Dr. Ab dulhameed Aleliwi stated that the voice assistant is part of efforts to advance digital transformation and provide users with a more flexible channel to access government services. He added that the system allows users to inquire about requirements, procedures, and other service-related matters and receive tailored responses. Furthermore, the assistant will aid the ministry in analyzing users' behavior and interests, generating data that can be used to refine digital services, improve the efficiency of data collection and analysis, and support decision-making, Dr. Aleliwi noted. He mentioned that the technology is expected to reduce the time and effort required to access and follow up on services by up to 30%, while enhancing the platform's efficiency by 20% and minimizing errors in service applications. Additionally, the ministry has achieved an advanced level in the Digital Experience Maturity Index 2026, ranking among the top 10 digital platforms.
