Makkah: The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has announced that high productivity across the Kingdom's livestock sector will meet the surged demand for sacrificial animals during the 1447 AH Hajj season.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the national inventory includes over 22 million sheep, 7.6 million goats, 2.2 million camels, and 510,000 cattle, which supports food security, self-sufficiency, and advanced animal disease prevention systems. The ministry emphasized that local markets and slaughterhouses throughout Makkah are well-prepared. They offer an abundant supply of livestock that meets high-quality standards.
The ministry has intensified field inspections and health monitoring tours to ensure absolute product safety and regulatory compliance. This effort is aimed at safeguarding the welfare of the pilgrims, ensuring that the sacrificial animals are healthy and meet all necessary standards.
