Economy Minister, Spanish Bank BBVA Leaders Discuss Cooperation Under Vision 2030

Davos: Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim met on Tuesday with Spanish bank BBVA (Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria) chair Carlos Torres Vila and chief executive Onur Gen§ during the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting 2025 in Davos, Switzerland. During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities for collaboration within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030 and explored the latest developments in financing services.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions focused on leveraging BBVA’s expertise in financial technology and sustainable financing to support the ambitious goals set by Saudi Vision 2030. The meeting underscored the importance of international partnerships in driving economic growth and diversification in Saudi Arabia. Both parties expressed enthusiasm for potential projects that could enhance economic resilience and innovation within the Kingdom.

The dialogue also highlighted the strategic alignment between BBVA’s global initiatives and Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation plan, which aims to reduce the country’s dependency on oil, develop public service sectors, and promote a more diverse economy. The cooperation between the Ministry and BBVA is expected to pave the way for new financing solutions and investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia.
