The eastern region municipality: The Eastern Region Municipality completed development projects during the first half of 2026, covering 14 parks and eight urban interventions under the Bahja initiative, aimed at enhancing quality of life and expanding public spaces across the region.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative included planting 11,573 trees and 61,060 shrubs, expanding green areas to 296,289 square meters to support environmental sustainability.

Key projects include Al-Khobar Terrace on the Al-Khobar waterfront, featuring a seaside promenade, sports courts, and bicycle tracks, and a sports park in Qaryat Al-Ulya Governorate with modern sports fields and walking tracks.
