Eastern Region Deputy Governor Inaugurates Mitsubishi Power’s First Locally Assembled JAC Gas Turbine

Dammam: On behalf of Governor of Eastern Region Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Eastern Region Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz today inaugurated Mitsubishi Power’s first locally assembled JAC gas turbine at the company’s facility in Dammam.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Prince Saud bin Bandar emphasized that this achievement is a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s industrial progress. He highlighted the importance of localizing advanced industries and transferring global expertise to Saudi youth as essential components of achieving the goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030. These efforts are aimed at enhancing the Kingdom’s industrial competitiveness and its standing at both regional and international levels, aligning with the leadership’s directives to bolster the industrial sector and empower national talent.

CEO of Mitsubishi Power Saudi Arabia, Adel Al-Juraid, noted that this achievement coincides with the 60th anniversary of Mitsubishi Power’s presence in the Kingdom, underscoring the company’s commitment to supporting industrial growth, energy security, and a sustainable future. He pointed out the significant advancements made by the Dammam facility in assembling advanced gas turbines and promoting localization, thereby reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a regional hub for advanced power generation solutions and a key contributor to the realization of Saudi Vision 2030 targets.

He further elaborated that the first M501JAC gas turbine-one of the world’s most efficient and reliable models-will be delivered to the Amiral cogeneration plant in Jubail, with a capacity of 475 megawatts. This plant will provide electricity and steam to the SATORP petrochemical complex of Saudi Aramco, which will include one of the largest steam crackers in the region, marking a significant step in enhancing the Kingdom’s energy and industrial capabilities.
