Dozens Of Artifacts Found In Dhi Qar

The inspector of Antiquities and Heritage of Dhi Qar, Shamel Al-Rumaid, announced today, Wednesday, that 52 artifacts were found during follow-up tours with the Antiquities Protection Police in the north of the governorate.

Al-Rumaid said in a statement today that the pieces that were found are various pieces, including Sumerian tablets, pottery and metal pieces, and a number of stones dating back to different ages.

He pointed out that Dhi Qar Antiquities and Heritage Inspectorate will soon send them to the Iraqi Museum in Baghdad for the purpose of examination and evaluation.

He added that the inspectorate is witnessing the handover of hundreds of artifacts during the follow-up rounds from the security services and citizens.
