Deputizing for HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Governor of Makkah to Attend Closing Ceremony of Crown Prince Camel Festival Tomorrow

Deputizing for His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Deputy Governor of Makkah region Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz will attend tomorrow the closing ceremony of the fifth edition of the Crown Prince Camel Festival, organized by the Saudi Camel Sports, in Taif Camel Square.

Minister of Sports, President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and President of the International Camel Racing Federation Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal expressed gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince for his patronage of the festival, which reflects his keenness to support sports, and his interest in the camel racing culture.

The final day of the festival will witness four rounds of racing and the crowning of the three winners of the Crown Prince Sword Award, with prizes of up to SAR1.7 million.

This year’s festival, which started on August 1, 2023, saw the participation of local, Arab and international camel owners and institutions. It also saw the first official all-female camel race.

The festival features 590 races and has a total prize pool of SAR57 million for the various race categories.

By organizing many other accompanying events, the festival aimed to celebrate and highlight the cultural importance of camels; its growing success also generates a major economic revenue for the Kingdom.
