Denmark Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia

Hanoi:United Nations Denmark has strongly condemned the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, which have targeted civilian infrastructure and posed threats to commercial shipping.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Denmark's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Christina Markus Lassen, voiced deep concern about the worsening clashes in Yemen and the deteriorating humanitarian situation. She attributed the escalation to the Houthis and urged them to cease all attacks immediately.

Lassen highlighted Iran’s support for the Houthis as a factor in their continued aggression, suggesting it exacerbates the crisis and destabilizes the region. She emphasized the need for greater efforts to curb the Houthis' capabilities and called for effective enforcement of upcoming sanctions.

She also pointed out that the Houthis' actions have hindered the United Nations' ability to operate and provide necessary aid in Yemen. Lassen urged full compliance with international law, including humanitarian law, and advocated for an inclusive political process under UN leadership as the only viable resolution to the conflict.
