Damascus: Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Al-Shaibani announced the launch of a reconciliation roadmap for the Druze-majority Suwayda Governorate. The initiative, supported by the United States and Jordan, comes in response to the violent unrest that erupted in the region last July.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during a joint press conference in Damascus with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi and US Special Envoy for Syria Thomas Barrack, Al-Shaibani emphasized that the roadmap is based on promoting justice and building trust. He stated that the plan includes holding accountable those responsible for attacks on civilians, compensating affected individuals, and initiating a comprehensive internal reconciliation process.
