Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Ramadan Programs Launch in Sri Lanka

Colombo: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the religious attach© at the Saudi embassy in India, has commenced the implementation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' programs for distributing dates and providing iftar to fasting individuals in Sri Lanka. This initiative was inaugurated during a ceremony at the Saudi embassy in Colombo, attended by prominent figures including Saudi Ambassador to Sri Lanka Khalid Al-Qahtani and Sri Lankan Deputy Minister of Religious and Cultural Affairs Muneer Mulaffer.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program involves distributing approximately five tons of dates, benefiting 20,000 fasting individuals. In addition, the iftar program is set to support around 5,000 individuals across various regions of Sri Lanka, marking the advent of the holy month with meaningful contributions to the community.

Deputy Minister Muneer Mulaffer expressed gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for their humanitarian initiatives. He acknowledged that these efforts reflect the Kingdom's dedication to supporting Muslims worldwide and praised the ministry's ongoing commitment to religious and relief programs, which enhance the bonds of brotherhood and humanitarian ties among different communities.
