Riyadh:Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has directed that a mosque to be constructed north of Riyadh be named after King Abdulaziz, following a proposal by Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

According to Saudi Press Agency, King Salman also allocated an 88,000-square-meter plot of land along King Abdulaziz Road for the mosque's construction.

The decision to name the mosque after the late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud pays tribute to his national legacy and his role in unifying the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as his commitment to building mosques throughout the Kingdom.
