Riyadh: Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan announced that Syria will be the guest of honor at the upcoming Riyadh International Book Fair 2026, scheduled for October under the commission's organization and supervision.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Prince Bader emphasized that the selection of Syria showcases the depth of Saudi-Syrian cultural relations, which are rooted in partnership and mutual respect. This decision aligns with the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing cultural exchange, a key goal of the National Culture Strategy under Saudi Vision 2030. The ministry is committed to fostering creative dialogue between nations, promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and reinforcing the Kingdom's influential role in both the Arab and international cultural arenas.
Prince Bader further noted the richness and diversity of Syrian culture, stating that Syria's presence as Guest of Honor will significantly enrich the upcoming edition of the Riyadh International Book Fair. He highlighted that this participation will create a dynamic and interactive space for Saudi and Syrian audiences, as well as intellectuals and creators from both countries, through their literary and cultural contributions.
The Riyadh International Book Fair aims to solidify its status as the region's largest book fair, based on visitor numbers, sales, and the variety of its cultural programs.
