Cultural Fund, Investment Ministry Promote Saudi Film Sector at Cannes Film Festival

Cannes: The Cultural Development Fund, in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment and Riviera Content Fund, hosted a pivotal event during the 79th Cannes Film Festival. This initiative aimed to draw international investment into Saudi Arabia's burgeoning film sector and to spotlight the accomplishments of Riviera Content Fund, which stands as the Kingdom's inaugural Saudi film investment fund.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Cultural Development Fund CEO Majed bin Abdulmohsen Al Hugail emphasized that Saudi Arabia's film industry has transformed into a fully integrated ecosystem. He noted that the sector is now more appealing for investment, bolstered by expanding infrastructure, advanced regulations, creative talent, and diverse financing options.

The event further showcased Riviera Content Fund's significant investments, which have surpassed SAR54 million out of a total capital of SAR375 million.

The gathering attracted an array of international investors, studios, production companies, and investment fund managers, all of whom were keen to explore opportunities within Saudi Arabia's film landscape.

This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia's strategic efforts to enhance its cultural economy, empower local talent, and draw high-value investments, all in accordance with Vision 2030.
