Riyadh: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Alswaha held a series of bilateral meetings with digital economy and communications ministers from member states of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO). These meetings took place on the sidelines of the organization's fifth General Assembly, aimed at strengthening international partnerships within the digital economy, enabling technological innovation, developing digital services, building capacity, and adopting emerging technologies in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).
According to Saudi Press Agency, Alswaha engaged in discussions with Kuwaiti Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Omar Al-Omar. Their talks focused on enhancing strategic technological cooperation within the framework of the Saudi-Kuwaiti Coordination Council, with an emphasis on supporting innovation, capacity building, and empowering entrepreneurship.
Furthering regional collaboration, Alswaha met with Jordanian Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Eng. Sami Smirat. The two explored partnership opportunities centered around developing the digital economy, adopting emerging technologies, and advancing technology entrepreneurship.
In another significant meeting, Alswaha held discussions with Lebanese Minister of the Displaced and Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence Kamal Shehadeh. The dialogue revolved around strengthening cooperation in the digital economy and fostering innovation in the AI sector.
Additionally, Alswaha discussed partnerships in AI, the digital economy, and technical capacity building with Pakistani Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications Shaza Fatima Khawaja. This interaction was part of broader efforts to enhance international cooperation in technology and innovation.
The minister's engagements concluded with a meeting with Gambian Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Lamin Jabbi. They focused on expanding partnerships in the digital economy, developing digital services, and enabling technological innovation, underscoring a mutual commitment to advancing digital collaboration.
