Riyadh: A severe cold wave is affecting most regions of the Kingdom, increasing reliance on heating methods such as electrical appliances, charcoal, and especially imported firewood, which has become a preferred choice for many in Qassim Region.

According to Saudi Press Agency, as temperatures drop, residents are turning to imported firewood as an effective and safe heating solution, helping curb local tree felling and preserve vegetation. Owners of outdoor supply shops report a significant rise in demand for imported firewood, confirming ample stock to meet market needs.

Imported firewood is a regulated commodity monitored by authorities, promoting environmental protection and ecological balance in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

Authorities in Qassim are conducting awareness campaigns on environmental conservation, emphasizing adherence to regulations against illegal logging and promoting safe heating methods during winter.
