Jeddah: The Chinese ambassador to Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Mr. Qiang Hua, visited the headquarters of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) in Jeddah. This visit aims to strengthen media relations between China and Islamic countries, expanding partnership horizons in the media and cultural fields.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the ambassador was welcomed by the Union’s Director General, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rabbo Al-Yami. Al-Yami praised the significance of the visit in enhancing communication between Chinese media institutions and those in the organization’s member states.
During the meeting, Al-Yami reiterated UNA’s commitment to fostering media relations with China and broadening cooperation with Chinese institutions. This is in line with UNA’s mission to support dialogue and enhance mutual understanding.
In addition, the Chinese ambassador extended an official invitation to Al-Yami to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Media and Research Centers Summit next month in China. The ambassador underscored the importance of UNA’s participation in this international event to strengthen ties with global research and media institutions and explore opportunities for exchanging expertise.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of commemorative gifts, symbolizing the depth of cultural and media relations between the Union and China. This gesture reflected a shared desire for greater openness and professional integration to serve the aspirations of the peoples and member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and China.
