Jeddah: During the 1447 AH Hajj season, the General Directorate of Border Guard implemented an integrated system of security, humanitarian, and service operations, beginning with the arrival of pilgrims through land and sea ports and continuing throughout their movement between the holy sites and the performance of their rituals.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Border Guard personnel participated in welcoming pilgrims arriving through ports of entry, providing support and guidance, and facilitating procedures to ensure their smooth arrival at their destinations. At the holy sites, Border Guard teams contributed to crowd management and pedestrian flow control in high-density areas by directing pilgrims to designated routes and assisting them in reaching their destinations, helping to ensure smooth movement and enhance pilgrim safety. Border Guard teams also supported Civil Defense in search and rescue operations and emergency-related field plans, enhancing readiness and coordination among agencies serving pilgrims.
Field teams provided guidance and assistance to pilgrims by offering information, answering inquiries, and helping lost pilgrims, facilitating access to various locations and services. Female Border Guard personnel played a prominent role in receiving pilgrims at entry points and participating in field, organizational, and guidance operations in the holy sites, providing support and assistance to female pilgrims and reflecting the integration of specialized roles in serving pilgrims.
These efforts reflect the success of the Hajj season through the integration of security, humanitarian, and service operations and the mobilization of human and technological resources to support field plans. This contributed to providing a safe and organized environment that enabled pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and tranquility from their arrival in the Kingdom until their departure.
