Border Guard Marks World Drowning Prevention Day with Regional Awareness Activities

Riyadh: The General Directorate of Border Guard concluded its awareness exhibitions and maritime safety and drowning prevention activities in Makkah, Eastern, and Jazan Regions, held in conjunction with World Drowning Prevention Day, observed annually on July 25.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the exhibitions aimed to highlight the Border Guard’s efforts in search and rescue operations, raise community awareness about the dangers of swimming in non-designated areas, promote drowning prevention measures, and introduce modern technologies used in rescue missions. They also provided guidance on how to request assistance by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, or 994 in other parts of the Kingdom.
