Riyadh: The Saudi International Handicrafts Week Exhibition (Banan), organized by the Heritage Commission, offers an exceptional experience for visitors who can view traditional handicrafts and participate in interactive activities. The exhibition features craftsmen from 25 countries presenting their crafts, making it a rich cultural destination.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this year’s exhibition, in its second edition, includes various events with pavilions and corridors inspired by traditional architectural designs that attract visitors. The air is filled with the scent of wood and natural leather, evoking nostalgia and memories of the past. It provides a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the creation of handicrafts. Visitors can engage with craftsmen and observe their meticulous techniques in weaving Sadu, creating wickerwork, embroidery, and other crafts showcasing the diversity of Saudi heritage.

The exhibition includes interactive activities suitable for all ages. A children’s pavilion host
s special activities aimed at developing their skills. Adults can participate in craft workshops to learn new skills and techniques from the craftsmen.

The experience at Banan is not limited to Saudi heritage alone; 25 other countries are participating and displaying their handicrafts. In one pavilion, visitors can learn about Moroccan copper work techniques, while another showcases handicraft decorations inspired by Asian heritage.
