Riyadh: General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej chaired the 21st meeting of the Aviation Program Activation Steering Committee, attended by officials and representatives from aviation sector entities. The meeting focused on assessing air traffic indicators and sector performance in the first half of 2026, highlighting key achievements and progress on projects aligned with sector goals. Challenges facing program implementation were also discussed, along with strategies to expedite completion and meet targets.

According to Saudi Press Agency, notable milestones included the renewal of Saudi Arabia's membership in the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization for the 2026-2028 term. Progress was also noted in airport infrastructure development and digital transformation efforts. During the meeting, GACA granted SAL Logistics Services the economic license for air cargo handling at AlUla International Airport. Additionally, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Saudi Air Navigation Services and entities such as EUROCONTROL and DFS Aviation Services, as well as between Cluster2 Airports Company and Prince Sultan Aviation Academy.
