Assistant Minister of Interior Leads Saudi Delegation at EU-MENA Security Conference

Lisbon: On behalf of the Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Interior Dr. Hisham Al-Faleh led the Saudi Arabian delegation at the European Union (EU) and Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Ministerial Conference on Security Cooperation. The conference aims to foster a regional political dialogue to bolster security collaboration.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Portuguese Minister of Home Affairs Maria Lºcia Amaral inaugurated the event in Lisbon. Dr. Hisham, in his address, expressed Saudi Arabia’s eagerness to engage in exchanging ideas and future visions during the conference. He highlighted the significance of achieving security coordination and integration, enhancing international cooperation to tackle organized crime, developing law enforcement agencies, and formulating joint action plans for the exchange of information and expertise. Strengthening regional cooperation between EU and MENA countries was also a key point in his speech.

Dr. Hisham emphasized that crime, in all its forms, presents significant challenges. He pointed out the necessity of reinforcing international partnerships and cooperation to confront these challenges and to share successful experiences in implementing preventive measures.

The conference saw attendance from ministers of Arab and European countries and representatives of international organizations. Attendees discussed joint security issues, reviewed innovative security models to address evolving threats, and explored methods for strengthening collaboration.
