Assistant Deputy Minister of Finance Highlights Kingdom’s Role at UN Forum

New york: Assistant Deputy Minister of Finance for International Relations Policies and Consultations, Dr. Turki Abalala, participated in the 2026 Financing for Development Forum of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), held at the United Nations headquarters in New York from April 20 to 24, 2026. The forum saw high-level participation from member states and international organizations.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Abalala, in his address, underscored the Kingdom's role in supporting international efforts aimed at advancing sustainable development amidst global economic and development challenges. He emphasized the necessity of strengthening collective international action to tackle these challenges and enhance development pathways.

Dr. Abalala also reiterated the Kingdom's commitment to supporting sustainable development for all, especially in conflict-affected countries, enabling them to meet their essential needs in a way that fosters growth and prosperity.

At the conclusion of his participation, Dr. Abalala reaffirmed the Kingdom's dedication to maintaining its constructive role in supporting international efforts to further develop the global economic and financial system, enhance its stability and efficiency, and promote sustainable development at both regional and international levels.
