Cairo: The Arab Tourism Organization participated in a roundtable on promoting health tourism in the Arab region, recently held in Cairo with the participation of experts and representatives from 11 Arab countries.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the roundtable concluded with several recommendations, most notably a call to develop Arab legislation regulating the relationship between healthcare service providers and beneficiaries, and to enhance integration between the health and tourism sectors. It also recommended establishing a unified Arab health tourism platform to coordinate marketing efforts and exchange expertise, as well as launching joint training programs to qualify Arab cadres in various specializations within this sector.
Furthermore, the roundtable recommended issuing a unified Arab document to enhance service quality and protect beneficiaries' rights. It also called for holding a comprehensive Arab health tourism conference in early 2027 and preparing a detailed report of recommendations to be submitted to the General Secretariat of the Arab League, in preparation for presentation to the Arab Council of Health and Tourism Ministers.
