Riyadh: President of the Arab Parliament Mohamed Al-Yammahi has condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli occupation's airstrikes targeting the Abu al-Duhur military airport in Syria's Idlib Governorate.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in a statement on Wednesday, Al-Yammahi stressed that this aggression constitutes a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity and a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability.
Al-Yammahi affirmed the Arab Parliament's full solidarity with Syria in the face of continued Israeli attacks. He warned of the Israeli occupation's attempts to undermine efforts aimed at consolidating stability and drag the region into further tensions.
The Arab Parliament president called on the international community and the UN Security Council to assume their responsibilities and take a firm stance to halt such violations and ensure they are not repeated.
Al-Yammahi also stressed Syria's legitimate right to defend its sovereignty and national interests in accordance with international law and norms.
He emphasized the need to end repeated Israeli attacks on Syria and other countries in the region in a way that contributes to safeguarding regional security and stability.
