Arab Parliament Condemns Iranian Attack on Saudi Tanker SIDR

Riyadh: Speaker of the Arab Parliament Mohammed Al-Yamahi condemned the Iranian attack on the Saudi tanker SIDR while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in fatalities among the tanker's crew. He warned of the dangers of undermining freedom of international navigation and the resulting threats to the security and safety of international waterways, energy security, and global supply chains.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Yamahi emphasized that targeting commercial ships and tankers in international waterways constitutes a dangerous escalation and a clear violation of international law. He called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in ensuring the security of international navigation and to take a firm stance against any practices that threaten the safety of maritime routes or endanger civilian lives.

Reaffirming the Arab Parliament's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, Al-Yamahi expressed unequivocal support for all measures Riyadh takes to safeguard its security and vital facilities, warning that continued aggression jeopardizes regional and international peace.
