Arab League Secretary-General Praises Sanctions on Israeli Ministers

Cairo: Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit welcomed the decision by the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Norway to impose sanctions on two extremist ministers in the Israeli occupation government for their continued incitement to violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Aboul Gheit described the move as an important step toward holding accountable officials in the Israeli government responsible for inciting violence and perpetuating settler attacks on Palestinians with impunity. He emphasized that the sanctions send a strong message to the international community and the Israeli public about the criminal conduct of senior officials whose extremism has fueled war crimes and grave violations of international humanitarian law in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Aboul Gheit stated, ‘This decision by the five countries marks a significant first step in rebalancing the international response to war crimes committed against Palestinians.’ He noted that it represents a practical measure toward holding accountable those involved in violence and incitement to ethnic cleansing and genocide.
