Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit has strongly condemned the airstrike launched by the Israeli occupation on Nabatieh in southern Lebanon that killed and injured dozens of people, including the mayor and several relief workers.
Aboul Gheit said in a statement yesterday that Israel is indiscriminately carrying out airstrikes in Lebanon, targeting civilians and infrastructure in an attempt to replicate the brutal Gaza scenario.
He noted that Israeli arrogance has reached a point of disregarding rational European voices that criticize this indiscriminate and dehumanizing conduct in military operations.
He added that Israel continues to persistently implement a scenario of emptying northern Gaza of its population and to commit massacres of civilians in a manner that is more ferocious than its actions at the beginning of the war. He said that this represents a clear message that the war is continuing without slowing down, pursuing scenarios of forced displacement and even targeting civilia
ns in tents.
The secretary general emphasized that the situation in the Gaza Strip has exceeded every imaginable criminal indulgence. He said that allowing this scenario to be repeated in Lebanon by the international community would constitute complicity in the crime through silence and failure to stop this bloody campaign against Lebanese civilians.
