Cairo: A high-level ministerial conference on women, peace, and security commenced today at the Arab League headquarters. Organized in collaboration with UN Women, the conference focuses on safeguarding and addressing the needs of women in conflict zones.
According to Saudi Press Agency, attendees include government ministers, heads of women’s affairs agencies, and representatives from international organizations. Head of the Women’s Committee at the Family Affairs Council Dr. Lana bint Hassan bin Saeed is among the participants.
Spanning two days, the conference will feature five sessions discussing the challenges faced by women, efforts to support them in peace and security initiatives, and their role in peacebuilding and reconstruction processes. The event coincides with the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, which underscores the critical role of women in achieving peace and security.
