Arab Foreign Ministers Reaffirm Support for Lebanon in Facing Israeli Aggression

The Arab League Council, at the level of Arab foreign ministers, convened its annual consultative meeting, chaired by Yemen, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The gathering focused on the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza and the recent dangerous escalation targeting Lebanon. In a statement issued by the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo, it was emphasized that the Arab ministers collectively affirmed their full support for Lebanon in confronting the Israeli aggression. The meeting expressed solidarity with Lebanon, both its government and its people and strongly condemned the escalating attacks by Israel. The ministers held Israel responsible for the escalating violence, warning of the potential repercussions that could lead to a regional conflict. They stressed that a large-scale assault on Lebanon could destabilize the entire region, risking a comprehensive war. The statement further noted that the ministers agreed on the necess ity of coordinating with member states of the Islamic group in the coming days to deliver a clear message to the international community, urging an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression.
